Craven College is an aspirational general further education college based on the outskirts of Skipton (North Yorkshire), delivering apprenticeships, 16-18 provision, adult skills, higher education, high needs and a wide portfolio of project work with employers and the unemployed. We also have sites in Ripon, Scarborough and at Leeds Bradford Airport.
We have some impressive facilities which include a new £1.6m Animal Management Centre (opened in 2018) as well as our unique Aviation Academy which is based at Leeds Bradford Airport allowing access to flying schools, technical instruction, expert careers advice and aviation knowledge. In progress, is our new Equine facility which is scheduled for 2020 and will include an international-sized arena and outdoor warm-up area.
We are also excited to be part of the Digital Strand of the North Yorkshire and Humberside Institute of Technology which was recently successful in its application. Capital works are taking place to refurbish designated space within the College, in order to equip us for delivery of the relevant programmes.

A strong ambassador internally and externally, our new Principal & Chief Executive will introduce and embed best practice and make the most of opportunities at local, regional and national levels to maintain the sustainability of the College. You will be quick to gain an understanding of the needs of the local and regional skills agenda and to position the College as one of the solutions to the current and future skills agenda.
You will have a track record of achievement in leading, inspiring and motivating staff to ensure that the College fulfils its mission, strategic aims and ambitions. Comprehensive working knowledge and understanding of the learning and skills sector, as well as demonstrable experience of high-level financial management and of delivering quality improvement to service users, are key requirements of this role.
