Vice Principal – Student Achievement and Progress – Newham Sixth Form College (NewVIc)
Vice Principal – Student Achievement and Progress
Salary: £84,947 – £88,886
Newham Sixth Form College is well regarded for promoting opportunity, social mobility and economic prosperity within our communities in East London. We are a highly performing education provider, synonymous with diversity, inclusivity and aspiration, and we aim consistently for excellence in all we do.
One of the largest sixth form colleges in London with over 2,600 students, NewVIc offers a wide range of courses, including A-levels, specialist pathways, vocational programmes and a growing adult offer. We are one of only a few sixth form colleges around the country taking part in the T level pilots, which provides an excellent opportunity to be at the leading edge of technical education.
Rated by Ofsted as ‘good’ with outstanding for personal development, behaviour and welfare in 2018, our results and student destinations are very impressive. Our enrolments have increased significantly in the last year as a result of our reputation for holistically developing our students and broadening their horizons. NewVIc combines quality teaching and high standards with some great facilities, including a new multi-million pound building which provides a state-of-the-art, technology enabled learning resource centre.
Our Principal and CEO, who took the helm last year, is keen to lead the college to even greater heights and ensure that NewVIc is the first choice for students and staff. As a result, we are seeking a new Vice Principal Student Achievement and Progress to oversee consistent, ongoing high quality in our teaching and learning, and to ensure that our offer is innovative, modern and meeting the needs of our students and communities. A key ambition will be to drive forward technology and develop strong digital learning capacity, while embedding a culture of high expectations throughout our student and staff bodies.
Our successful candidate will bring a strong track record of leading teaching and learning, curriculum development and quality assurance in a well-performing education provider, with a focus on raising aspiration and ensuring an excellent student experience. Key to the role will be the ability to provide inspirational leadership who creates a real sense of ‘team’ throughout the College, grow potential talent and harness the strengths of our staff. You should also demonstrate the ability to drive and manage change, encourage innovation and continually develop outstanding practice.
